July 24 - Aug 10 marked our celebration of the Nubian-Khamite New Year 6243!
Marked by the annual heliacal rising of the star Spdt(Sirius), when the ancient "mother/father star" can be clearly seen sharing the dawn sky with our present Sun.
It iz a time of celebrating re-unification - Smai Tawi - of new & ancient knowledge; of ordinary time-bound reality with infinite consciousness; of ancestral lineages broken by time, war & migration......It has been 6243 years since the last re-unification of the ancient Afrakan nation of Tawi documented by the pallet of Narmer in 4240 BC. Tawi encompassed the lands surrounding the entire stretch of the Hapi (Nile) river, in three states.....
This year for me it's been a time I was homesick for my Kra Family in NYC led in celebration this year and every year by my Baba, Sen Ur Heru Ankh Ra Semajh Se Ptah with our Sen't Urt Kaitha Het-Heru. Gotta get the kinks worked outa that bi-location trick! Then again, I got to watch my 7yr old son conquer his limits and teach himself to ride a bike appropriately on the UrthDay of Set - Ntr of chaos, fear & initiation......So it works out ;~)
